We have a new
committee member, Vahan Mouradian. We all welcome his participation & contribution
to our committee.
YES, we are now
all aware that on March 15, 2004 AGBU
has declared that our school, MEI will close its doors June 2005 to
education. We are now committed to
bring our active participation against recent decision taken by AGBU President
& CB.
Here is our plan:
BOWLING night is
cancelled. We have to concentrate all
our efforts against MEI closure.
We will call every single
MEI graduate on our list and invite
them together with their spouse, if they wish, for a GENERAL MEETING to defend our
cause:

Itinerary Introduction we will explain the current
situation
Brain storm session to gather ideas what we could do effectively.
Fund raising Efforts to find ways to fund raising.
Our plan discuss SAVE
MELKONIAN CULTURAL NIGHT
Rent & use the
auditorium of newly constructed school
Request Hamboyan to
organize.
Invite performing artists.
ALL PROCEEDS to be donated to SAVE MELKONIAN FUND.
Hacik will prepare a TV
question/answer session to be aired
in HAI HORIZON bringing
awareness to Armenian Community in
regards to this subject. Hacik will check with Nurel Beylerian if he will
be available to participate the TV interview.
Berge will prepare a
document for MEI students to show our support and letting them know that
Toronto Alumni will fight this cause on their behalf to the best of our
ability.
Berge will also prepare an
article regarding the school as well as the recent developments to be printed
in Armenian press, Lousapats & Horizon.
WE HAVE A TOUGH ROAD AHEAD. WE SHOULD PREVAIL.
